We tend to give a lot of thought to paint colors, kitchen designs and garden styles when it comes to updating our homes but furniture Vidilion isn’t always at the forefront of our minds. This year, however, a host of new silhouettes and textured materials are helping us move away from the rigid lines that have defined the past decade and toward a softer landing with a more feminine spirit. From the return of maximalism to a focus on comfort, here are some 2023 furniture trends to keep an eye on.
A bold rug or piece of art might be what sets a room apart, but the new focus on seating will help bring people back together. This is especially true for dining rooms where a resurgence of face-to-face conversation is being encouraged with chairs and sofas that are as comfortable as they are stylish.
With many of the best trend furniture in Pune now being made from eco-friendly and sustainable wood, natural finishes are becoming increasingly popular as consumers seek products that have a low environmental impact. Look for pieces that are finished in hues like khaki, olive green and forest brown to add a subtle natural element to any home.
Metal accents are still a popular interior design feature, but designers are moving away from bright brushed brass and toward more of a patinaed finish. A patinaed brass finish is reminiscent of old-fashioned plumbing fixtures and lends an antique feel to any space. You’ll also find more brass furniture pieces with a raw and unfinished metal base such as the iconic Fritz Hansen PK chair and the versatile chrome modular shelving units from USM.
In a nod to the popularity of Instagram influencers and food bloggers, you’ll see more creative storage solutions in kitchens this year. From sections of cabinets that open to reveal hidden appliance garages to scalloped-edge slabs that resemble kitchen backsplashes, there are plenty of ways to hide everyday items while enhancing your kitchen’s style.
Another way to add an unexpected element to a room is with marquetry, which is an ancient art that involves layering thin veneers or slices of wood to create patterned pieces. This decorative technique is being used in a variety of different ways throughout the home, from coffee tables to nightstands. You’ll also see it in a variety of accessories, including vases, bowls and lampshades.
Purely decorative elements may be on the wane in favor of creating more mindful spaces, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some beautiful, well-made ones available. Textured Zellige tiles, for instance, are an eye-catching and artisanal touch that can enhance any wall.
